"Venetian Fantasy"
2013

Lladró, a Spanish company founded in 1953 by brothers Juan, José, and Vicente Lladró, is renowned for its exquisite porcelain sculptures, embodying craftsmanship and elegance. The “Fantasia Veneziana” sculpture, created in 2013, showcases Lladró’s mastery and the talent of Francisco Polope, a leading brand sculptor. Born in 1957 in Valencia, Polope is pivotal in crafting High Porcelain works—large, intricate pieces that push the material’s boundaries. “High Porcelain is freedom for the sculptor,” he says. “We explore the material’s limits, creating rich decor on a grand scale while preserving harmony.” “Fantasia Veneziana” blends glossy and matte porcelain, evoking luxury and mystery. Its centerpiece is an opulent floral headdress: a cascade of roses, lilies, chrysanthemums, and exotic flowers in pastel hues, adorned with gold and silver accents, silk ribbons, and miniature fruits. Inspired by the Venetian Carnival’s masks and lavish costumes, this limited-edition High Porcelain piece merges tradition and modernity, reinforcing Lladró’s status as a pinnacle of porcelain art.
